Our approach is straightforward and practical and we like to use outdoor development as a component as often as possible. Placing people into challenging situations where they have to make choices that really matter (such as how to navigate their way around a ropes course twenty feet above the ground!) releases powerful skills which are then transferable into a business environment. How? We have a close working relationship with VerticalAir, a Lake District-based specialist in delivering outdoor programmes www.verticalair.co.uk. Their fully qualified and experienced staff use their unique ropes course in the woods of a nearby hotel together with activitives such as abseiling and using a zip-wire to challenge and develop teamwork, unleashing a sense of adventure and risk taking that can then be applied back in the workplace. It's important to ensure that the benefits of outdoor experiences are properly identified and analysed. All of our programmes achieve the right balance of experience and reflection to ensure the relation of learning back to work situations.
